Lessons from the arguments of Kufar (disbelievers) Al-Furqan | Islam

Argument is a type of disagreement with something and the reason of disagreeing is known. Allah has mentioned the arguments of Kafr in His holy Book al Quran and also answered them. In this post we will discuss the arguments of Kafr mentioned in chapter 25 Al-Furqan. Rightly , and Allah is above all flaws, has choosen its name Al-Furqan (the difference or distinguish) by which one is able to know his self. Through these arguments we can realise ourselves and remove the misconceptions related them.

   We ask Allah for the benefits that we shall take from this chapter ! Ameen 

     

Discussion 

    Before the  revelation, the whole mankind was in imminent darkness. Some were worshipping many Gods and some were following their own made primitive beliefs. 

So let's know what were their different arguments and how Allah has replied to them.

1. Idol worshipping and making partners

  The most common character among Mushriqin (disbelievers) was worshipping others than the true God (Allah). 

                    وَٱتَّخَذُوا۟ مِن دُونِهِۦٓ ءَالِهَةًۭ

            And made other than Him their illah (to whom they worship 

Allah  doesn't bear shiriq (partners) and hence has revealed the above verse after Verse 2 in which He (the exalted) says 

          وَلَمْ يَتَّخِذْ وَلَدًۭا وَلَمْ يَكُن لَّهُۥ شَرِيكٌۭ فِى ٱلْمُلْكِ 

         And Who has never had ˹any˺ offspring, nor does He have a partner in ˹                                     governing˺ the kingdom 

 Allah has first revealed that He (the most high) is alone and then mentioned the argument of Kafr (disbelievers) because Allah doesn't bear any partner in His dominance (Mulk). We need to be very clear in worshipping Him alone without thinking that He has divided His governance to others with some authority. As some people think that He has given some powers to him (any virtuous man) or her as it is also shirik (associating partners).

   You will come across لاشریک  always at first for instance 17:23 

     ۞ وَقَضَىٰ رَبُّكَ أَلَّا تَعْبُدُوٓا۟ إِلَّآ إِيَّاهُ وَبِٱلْوَٰلِدَيْنِ إِحْسَـٰنًا ۚ 

     And surely He (the most merciful) is deserving to be worshipped and should not be related to any weakness as He is above all. He has created us for His worship and created all the creatures to find Him alone.

2. Blaming over the revealed book 

       Satan has to overcome a human being and lead him in astray. He frames different policies to inspire a human being. Speculation and wrong thoughts is one of them. The argument of kufar (disbelievers) which Allah mentions as 

                       إِنْ هَـٰذَآ إِلَّآ إِفْكٌ ٱفْتَرَىٰ

        “This ˹Quran˺ is nothing but a fabrication which he (Prophet) made up" 

  Who one can be more ظالم (tyrant) than the one who blames Allah and His Massenger ﷺ . Allah has knowledge of everything, unseen and He does what He wills. Allah has mentioned in Al-Quran  those things which were not known at that time and today we know some and many things we don't know which Allah has revealed.

    By strongly disproving and discrediting their argument, He (The Nobel) says 

    "  If they are true in their statement then say them make a piece

            of such content and take help whomsoever you want, "

   No one can deny the daily researches which bring the evidence of truth. And science even can't cope with the rulings of our religion. 

       "There were number of people who were at its               denial and ended up with believing on it" 

3. The past stories

      People were involved in disbelief and were looking how we can mock and flee from the truth. Remember Those things change which have weaknesses. Quran is flawless and hence shines always. It doesn't need change at any cost.  

      Allah has mentioned the stories of previous قوم  (people) to teach various lessons like from the story of Samud  He teaches us to fear from His punishment. It's because Allah is our creator and knows our programming well. 

      Heedlessness of the kufar has never ended their stories of disbelief. Their carelessness and immature thoughts led them to argue with the Prophet ﷺ by saying 

                   وَقَالُوٓا۟ أَسَـٰطِيرُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ

          And said these revelations are only ancient fables  

   Knowing the result of previous nations is very necessary as they become an evidence for truth. Allah has even preserved the signs of previous tyrants who were breaking His rules and associating partners in His dominance. One of the previous tyrants was Pharaoh whose body is preserved in Egypt. Thus Allah commands us to travel so that we can achieve his nearness.

4. Questioning about the Life of Muhammad ﷺ 

         Humans need food to eat and other people to live with. No one can live a better life by abandoning people and his nafs (self). 

      Satanic people were trying to inspire Prophet ﷺ to live a life of cave and abandon what Allah has given him to enjoin. Allah has prohibited a life of cave and isolating oneself from people because actual test is how one lives with others, how he behaves and tolerates other people. 

     Their argument was 

      وَقَالُوا۟ مَالِ هَـٰذَا ٱلرَّسُولِ يَأْكُلُ ٱلطَّعَامَ وَيَمْشِى فِى ٱلْأَسْوَاقِ ۙ

         And they say ˹mockingly˺, “What kind of messenger is this who eats food and goes about in market-places ˹for a living˺? 

     One who leaves his people and live a life of cave can't acquire greatness in sight of Allah. We all have ups and downs in our lives and hence we need others frequently with whom we consult our problems and get comfort. Psychologically, we get burden free when we interact with others. Allah has made all the creatures for a human being and if he keeps himself away from them how can he reap their optimal benefits.

         When we can't use the resources which Allah has given us then how can we become His greatful servants when there is no use of them

    The verse also clarifies and negates the concept that Muslims can do all sorts of businesses, other studies and can choose whatever profession they want (except those which doesn't oppose Allah's commands). 

         In reality, it is Deen which always inspire it's readers for analysis and deep thought. 

     One of the authentic Hadith in which Prophet ﷺ said : knowledge is necessary for both men and women.

  Also the above  verse clarifies that wealth , famecity and influence is not to measure. If it was treasure in Allah's sight, then Allah would have given enough wealth and control to His Messangers (PBUT). So wealth is not of concern! Live a life which satisfies you and distribute which is extra and don't overlook anyone who is downtrodden. 

     Allah has also mentioned their argument related to wealth as 

              أَوْ يُلْقَىٰٓ إِلَيْهِ كَنزٌ أَوْ تَكُونُ لَهُۥ جَنَّةٌۭ يَأْكُلُ مِنْهَا ۚۚ

    or a treasure had been cast down to him, or he had had a garden from which he may eat!” 

     When we keenly relate these above mentioned two verses, we can simply come to know the insanity of their arguments which contradict by themselves. It should become the measure of their nonsense. 

        Allah mentions after their arguments in verse 9

            ٱنظُرْ كَيْفَ ضَرَبُوا۟ لَكَ ٱلْأَمْثَـٰلَ فَضَلُّوا۟ فَلَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ سَبِيلًۭا 

       See ˹O Prophet˺ how they call you names!1 So they have gone so ˹far˺ astray that they cannot find the ˹Right˺ Way 

      We can say this verse as Oh Prophet ﷺ ,which types of examples they are relating with you ( which contradict each other) in reality they have gone in astray and don't find the truth. 

 We ask Allah for expanding our chest to make it feasible for the acceptance of commands of Allah. Ameen!
