Purpose of life

Abstract

 Allah has created Adam (A.S) for some specific purpose. Along with the same purpose, Allah almighty has embodied people with different interests. How every kind of interest has been burdened with that specific purpose? This question halts most of the people in their ways. We will inshallah deeply delve in it to understand how different interests have their ways to reach their specific goal. And it will thus make us able to understand the bridge between the two worlds.

      Allah says

“And I (Allah) didn’t create the jinn and man except to worship Me ”

 Our purpose of life is to worship Allah almighty. Worship can be defined as

“Worship is any action pleasing to Allah. Action can be affirmation or negation which is pleasing to Him”

 Many people have wrong concept of worship. Some bound “worship” only upto namaz (praying) and some as “helping others”. In actual sense, worship includes your every intention pleasing to Allah.

It can simply be stated as

 Everything done while being conscious of Allah is a worship

And hence doing your work while remaining fearful of your Lord is also a worship.

 

Today I want to shed light over all interests which are allowed in our Islam. There is no difference of nearness of people to Allah with regard to their occupations but only by their faiths. 

  There is space for everyone in our religion as some people have misunderstanding that our Islam doesn’t have space for science, arts , psychology and business.

 To discuss in detail over the spaces of Islam, I have divided people in two classes .

  

 Let’s begin with literate class

We wholeheartedly ensure people of science that our religion gives space to them. To be truthful, we need to State those verses to affirm.

 Allah says 75:36-40

“ Does man think that he will be left neglected (not be asked of his life) Had he not been a sperm from semen emitted? Then he was a clinging clot ,and (Allah) created (his form) and proportionated (him) .And made of him two mates ,the male and the female. Isn’t that (your Lord) able to give life to the dead ?”

 Allah has mentioned the stages of a human being and hence affirming the reader of science in His religion.

“And those who are interested in science, this is what for them to ponder on and to search Allah in their observations.”

 And there are other numerous verses witnessing science subject and not only biology but other science subjects as well which are under it’s shade.

 We all know the space of business in our religion as Prophets were businessmen . It doesn’t make any sense that today’s businessmen are modern than them.

  Allah says 2:275

“but Allah has permitted Trade and has forbidden interest (usury)”

 As prophet pbuh was the best psychologist . No one can dear to negate psychology in our religion as seen in the life of Prophet Muhammad pbuh. Psychology is the subject of understanding behaviour and emotions of  others and our Prophet Muhammad pbuh was well equipped of countering psycho-problems.

 Students of law may now claim for their rights, don't worry. Islam has given rights to those who are interested in law. As our religion is practical and not based on theories and certificates. So it needs your courage of agreeing the responsibilities. You have to be just and even it may be sometime against your own desire (nafs).   

As Allah is الملك and only He has the right of kingship. Allah has descended His laws to establish peace and end violence. We should not interfere with His laws as He is the most Just and High. We have flaws and He is above them.

 If you are interested in the studies law, you have to understand the law commanded by Allah and to establish them in the world. You don't have the authority of changing the laws of Devine. 

Whosoever does his work in remembrance of Allah is worshiping. Remembering keeps one encircled in His limits and protects him from doing indecent. 

 And hence their is space for these interests in our religion. 

 Now looking the class of illiterates which includes labourers, businessmen and others.

Being a labour is not any abasement.

"As it is upto Allah that whom He wills gives and whom he wills deprives. Remember , worldly havings and not havings don't designate one's nearness to Allah. Allah gives the peace of faith only to those who are nearer to Him but provides wealth to both i,e believers and non-believers 

And hence there is space for everyone in our religion as one society needs people of different interests. And thus our religion enjoins "what is insentual and forbids what is out of it. 

And Allah  says in the Qur'an 39:27

"And We have certainly presented for the people in this Qur'an from every [kind of] example - that they might remember."

 And hence Allah has mentioned examples for everybody. Quran is not for some specific group but for everyone. No one can tomorrow claim for their rights being tyrannous in this world.
